BOARD MEMBER AT LARGE - BRIAN W. RANDOLPH, PhD, PE, M.ASCE
Brian has been on the faculty of the University of Toledo since 1987 and has
professional interests in the fields of environmental and transportation geotechnics,
engineering curricular reform and experiential education. During his career at UT he has
served as faculty member, Department Chair and Associate Dean. He has been active
in major public works throughout northwest Ohio, including the Toledo Waterways
Initiative, the Veterans Glass City Skyway, I-75/475 Systems Interchange Study, I-475
Task Force and 5/3 Field Ballpark.
Brian has been active in local, regional and national committees of ASCE. A member of
the Geo-Institute, he has helped organize professional conferences and served as peer
reviewer for multiple technical journals. He is the recipient of numerous teaching and
professional achievement awards, including being named 2005 Toledo Engineer of the
Year. In addition to his other professional activities, Brian has been actively involved in
service to numerous organizations, including the Ohio Department of Transportation,
the Ohio Department of Higher Education, the Toledo Metropolitan Area Council of
Governments, the Lucas County Commissioners, the Arts Commission of Greater
Toledo, the Regional Growth Partnership, the Urban Affairs Center, Toledo Public
Schools, Washington Local Schools and the City of Toledo.
